Kathmandu- Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane has said that his fight for justice is far from over, asserting that accountability and justice still remain unresolved.
Addressing supporters on Friday evening after being released on bail from the District Court, Rupandehi, Lamichhane said the struggle he faces is not personal but linked to broader injustice in the country. He stated that while injustice was done to him, it was insignificant compared to the injustice inflicted on the nation.
“I will only say this today—the score remains to be settled, justice remains to be served,” Lamichhane said, urging supporters to remain patient as he would speak in detail at an appropriate time.
Thanking party cadres and well-wishers for their support, Lamichhane said the love, trust, and solidarity shown toward him strengthened his resolve. He added that the time to speak openly would come soon.
Lamichhane was released on Friday evening after submitting bail in line with the order of the Butwal bench of the Tulsipur High Court. According to the District Court, Rupandehi, he deposited Rs 10 million in cash and submitted a bank guarantee worth Rs 27.48 million, bringing the total bail amount to approximately Rs 40 million.
The High Court had also imposed conditions, including seeking court approval before travelling abroad and accepting any additional liabilities determined by the final verdict.
Following his release, Lamichhane departed for Chitwan, where he is scheduled to address a public programme on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Rashtriya Swatantra Party stated that Lamichhane will immediately resume his party responsibilities after completing legal and administrative formalities. The party said it respects the High Court’s order and remains committed to the rule of law and judicial process.
The RSP also reiterated that the cases against Lamichhane were politically motivated and expressed confidence that the current government would take steps to end what it termed a pattern of political vendetta.
