U-19 Asia Cup: Afghanistan Beat Nepal by Six Wickets

Nepal bowled out for 124 as Afghanistan chase target comfortably in Dubai

Kathmandu- Nepal were defeated by Afghanistan by six wickets in their final Group ‘B’ match of the ICC U-19 Asia Cup held in Dubai on Tuesday, ending their campaign in the tournament.

Afghanistan successfully chased the target of 125 runs set by Nepal, reaching the total in 26.5 overs with the loss of four wickets. Uzairullah Niazai led the chase with 61 runs, while Osman Sadat scored 28. Afghanistan captain Mehboob Khan remained unbeaten on 11.

For Nepal, Abhishek Tiwari claimed two wickets, while Bipin Sharma took one.

Earlier, Nepal were bowled out for 124 runs in 46.4 overs after being sent in to bat first. Dilsad Ali was the top scorer with 32 runs, followed by Chandan Ram with 27 and Abhishek Tiwari with 20.

Afghanistan’s bowlers dominated the innings, with Zaitullah Shaheen taking three wickets. Abdul Aziz, Nuristani Omarzai and Wahidullah Zadran picked up two wickets each.

The loss marked Nepal’s third consecutive defeat in the tournament. Nepal had earlier suffered losses against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, resulting in their exit from the U-19 Asia Cup.
