Kathmandu- The government has decided to operate a vacant block of the Central Jail in Bidur, Nuwakot, as a juvenile correctional home.
The decision was taken by a meeting of the Council of Ministers after approving a proposal submitted by the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens.
According to the decision, juveniles who have crossed the age of 18 but are currently serving remaining sentences in different juvenile correctional homes will be shifted to the facility.
The Cabinet has clarified that only one unused block of the Nuwakot Central Jail will be converted and operated as a juvenile correctional home.
