Foreign Minister Balananda Sharma Leaves for Bangladesh

Kathmandu — Foreign Minister Balananda Sharma departed for Dhaka on Monday to attend the state funeral of former Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Begum Khaleda Zia.

Minister Sharma is accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to the ministry, he is scheduled to return to Kathmandu on Thursday, Poush 17.

The Government of Nepal has expressed deep condolences on the demise of former Prime Minister Zia, acknowledging her significant contribution to strengthening bilateral relations between Nepal and Bangladesh during her tenure.

Begum Khaleda Zia served as Prime Minister of Bangladesh in multiple terms and played a notable role in advancing diplomatic cooperation and regional engagement between the two countries.
