Kathmandu- The second Special General Convention of the Nepali Congress has been extended until Tuesday, as discussions continue on the political and organizational reports presented by the party’s two General Secretaries.
According to Madhav Prasad Chamlagain, Member Secretary of the Special General Convention Publicity Subcommittee, the convention, which commenced on Sunday, will now formally continue through Tuesday.
Chamlagain informed that the process of leadership selection will also begin on Tuesday, following the conclusion of deliberations on the reports submitted by General Secretaries Gagan Kumar Thapa and Bishwaprakash Sharma.
“Intensive discussions are ongoing regarding the reports presented by the General Secretaries. These deliberations will continue on Tuesday as well. Only after completing this process will the party move forward with leadership selection,” Chamlagain said.
The extension reflects ongoing internal consultations within the party amid differing views over organizational reforms, leadership structure, and the future political direction of the Nepali Congress.
