Kathmandu — Police have arrested one individual along with a vehicle in connection with the robbery at SBI Bank in Ghyanglekh Rural Municipality–2, Sindhuli.
According to the District Police Office, Sindhuli, the robbery occurred at around 7:00 pm. Following the incident, police launched an immediate operation and have intensified investigations, said SP Laldhwaj Subedi, Chief of the District Police Office.
“I am currently at the office. The police team has been mobilized. A vehicle suspected to have been used in the robbery has been located,” SP Subedi told Nepalpulse.com.
Driver Taken Into Custody, Investigation Ongoing
Police confirmed that the vehicle allegedly used by the robbers and its driver have been taken into custody. During preliminary questioning, the driver claimed that masked men hired the vehicle saying they were going to attend a wedding and that he was unaware of any criminal activity.

However, police have stated that the claim is under scrutiny and further investigation is ongoing to determine the driver’s exact role, if any, in the robbery.
Masked Robbers Assaulted Guards, Fled With Cash
According to local residents, masked individuals entered the bank premises, assaulted the on-duty security guard, took control of bank staff, and looted cash before fleeing the scene.
Police have not yet disclosed the amount of money stolen. A search operation is underway to locate other suspects involved in the robbery.
Authorities have assured that updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
