Kathmandu—Advocate Yubaraj Poudel, popularly known as Yubaraj Safal, has been arrested on charges of spreading confusion by producing and circulating a false video related to the Office of the Attorney General and Attorney General Sabita Bhandari.
He was taken into custody by the District Police Range, Kathmandu on Tuesday. According to police, the arrest was carried out following a formal request from the Attorney General’s Office.
Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar Bhattarai stated that Safal was arrested based on an official letter received from the Attorney General’s Office, citing the dissemination of misleading and false information through video content.
Police have said that further investigation is underway to determine the nature and impact of the video and to proceed in accordance with prevailing laws.
