Kathmandu – The second official song from ‘Harsha’, directed by debut filmmaker Ekata Paudel, has been released. Titled ‘Kutu Kutu Kasto Maya Lagyo Barilai’, the song was made public on Friday, showcasing lead actors Khagendra Lamichhane and Barsha Raut in a romantic portrayal. This marks the first time actor Khagendra Lamichhane appears in a romantic avatar on screen, adding a fresh dimension to his cinematic presence.
The music video features choreography by Sunil Chhetri, with visuals that appear to successfully heighten audience anticipation for the film. Composed by Alish Karki, the song is performed by Sanish Shrestha and Apsara Ghimire, with lyrics by Neer Kamal Khadka (Mamal). The arrangement, mixing, and mastering were done by Shailendra M. Pradhan (Babu).
Singer Sanish Shrestha, who rose to recognition from The Voice of Nepal Season 2, had remained relatively low-profile afterward. He now makes his playback singing debut in ‘Harsha’, which is set for nationwide release on Mangsir 12. Shrestha believes this song will help establish his footing in the music industry.
Director Ekata Paudel, niece of late filmmaker Shiv Regmi, studied filmmaking at the New York Film Academy, holds a bachelor’s degree in mass communication, and a master’s in management and leadership. She has previously directed several short films.
The film features a strong ensemble cast including Khagendra Lamichhane, Barsha Raut, Nir Shah, Santosh Pant, Sharmila Malla, Maotse Gurung, Vishal Pahadi, Nima Pandey, Luniva Tuladhar, Anshu Maharjan, Renu Pradhan, Suvarna Thapa, Srishti Maharjan, Sirjana Napit, and child actor Simon Wadi.
‘Harsha’ also brings together notable technical expertise: cinematography by Alok Shukla, music by Sameer, Himal, Basanta Sapkota, and Alish Karki, editing by Lokesh Bajracharya, and choreography by Sunil Chhetri and director Ekata Paudel.
Produced under the banners of Ashtalakshmi Productions and E-Prime Movies, the film is based on a story written by director Paudel herself. Prasanna Paudel and Bikas Paudel serve as producers, with Hikmat Chokhal as executive producer. Ishwar Ghimire is the production manager, and Kuldeep Sharma is the chief assistant director.
