Kathmandu – With just one match remaining in the final round of the Nepal Premier League (NPL), the tournament has already seen 34 half-centuries scored by 29 players.
In this season, Pokhara Avengers’ Kushal Bhurtel and Adam Rossington, along with Karnali Yaks’ Priyank Panchal, have each hit two half-centuries, while players including Sudurpaschim Royals’ Binod Bhandari, Josh Brown, Harmeet Singh, Chris Lynn, and Ishan Pandey; Biratnagar Kings’ Lokesh Bam, Faf du Plessis, Martin Guptill, and Bashir Ahmed; Pokhara’s Sumit Verma, Jimmy Neesham, Adam Rossington, and Rishi Dhawan; and Chitwan’s David Malan and Arjun Soud have contributed individual half-centuries.
Other notable performers with a half-century include Kathmandu Gorkhaz’ Bhim Sarki, John Simpson, Ben Charlesworth; Karnali’s Mark Watt; Lumbini’s Darcy Short; and Janakpur Bolts’ Wayne Parnell, Sanjay Krishnamurthy, Maj Sadakat, Anil Shah, and Ashif Sheikh. Among these, only Mark Watt of Karnali and Adam Rossington of Pokhara have converted their innings into centuries so far.
In the bowling department, Biratnagar Kings’ captain Sandeep Lamichhane tops the list with 15 wickets in seven matches, followed closely by Sudurpaschim Royals’ Abhinash Bohara with 14 wickets.
The leading run-scorers are dominated by international players, with Adam Rossington of Pokhara scoring 323 runs, Mark Watt of Karnali 242 runs, and Chitwan’s Ravi Bopara 237 runs. Nepali batsmen Rohit Kumar Poudel and Binod Bhandari follow with 208 and 201 runs, respectively, showcasing strong local talent alongside foreign stars.
