Kathmandu- The Election Commission has assigned election symbols to political parties registered to contest the House of Representatives (HoR) election scheduled for March 5, 2026.
According to the Commission, 120 political parties had applied to participate in the upcoming polls. Commission spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai said 102 parties have been allotted separate election symbols. Additionally, 12 parties that applied to contest jointly have been given a shared symbol.
With this arrangement, a total of 107 election symbols will be used in the election. The Commission noted that 143 political parties are currently registered with it, of which 114 will be participating in the HoR election.
The symbol allocation marks a key preparatory step as the country moves closer to the national vote, now 87 days away.
