Kathmandu- The Election Commission of Nepal (ECN) has granted permission to 31 organizations to observe the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) elections scheduled for March 5, 2026.
The Commission has approved 27 national and four international organizations. According to ECN spokesperson and Joint Secretary Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, the Commission had received 44 applications from national and five from international organizations.
Bhattarai said organizations that fulfilled the criteria and completed procedures as per the Election Observation Guidelines–2079 BS were authorized. Those failing to submit required documents or meet procedural requirements have been given five days to comply, after which the Commission will review their applications.
The HoR elections are being conducted by the interim government led by Prime Minister Sushila Karki, formed following the Gen-Z movement of September 8–9, which is constitutionally mandated to hold parliamentary elections by March 5 next year.
