Kathmandu — The Nepali Congress has officially made public the election schedule for selecting new leadership through its ongoing Special General Convention. Senior Advocate Sitaram KC, coordinator of the Election Committee, announced the detailed timetable on Tuesday.
According to the published schedule, voting for the party’s Central Committee will take place at 9:00 PM today. The process will formally begin with the publication of the preliminary voter list at 12:30 PM. Objections and discussions regarding the voter list have been scheduled for 1:30 PM.
The Election Committee has stated that the final voter list will be released at 4:00 PM, while the final list of candidates will be published at 8:45 PM, shortly before voting begins.
The decision to proceed with the electoral process was taken during a meeting of the five-member Election Committee earlier today. Elections will be conducted to select members of the Central Committee.
Earlier on Tuesday morning, the previous Election Committee led by Khamba Bahadur Khati was dissolved, and a new committee was formed under the coordination of Sitaram KC to oversee the leadership selection process.
With the election schedule now in place, the Special General Convention has entered a critical phase that is expected to determine the future leadership and political direction of the Nepali Congress.
