Kathmandu — The Nepali Communist Party (NCP) has fielded candidates in all 165 constituencies for the upcoming House of Representatives elections. Party leader Govinda Acharya said that all candidates who received party tickets reached their respective constituencies on Tuesday and completed the nomination registration process.
According to Acharya, the NCP has ensured nationwide electoral presence in the direct election system. He added that in Baglung-1, the party has extended its support to the candidate of the Rastriya Janamorcha, indicating electoral coordination in that constituency.
Out of the total 165 constituencies, the NCP has nominated women candidates in 14 constituencies. Among them are Bina Magar from Kanchanpur-1, Sindhu Jalesa from Nawalparasi West-1, Yashodha Subedi Gurung from Manang-1, Renu Dahal from Chitwan-3, Rupa Maharjan from Kathmandu-10, and Kalpana Sharma from Kathmandu-5.
Similarly, Menaka Bhandari has been nominated from Kathmandu-1, Rubi Kumari Karna from Saptari-4, Sarita Khadka Thapa from Sankhuwasabha-1, Dharmashila Chapagain from Jhapa-2, Ram Kumari Chaudhary from Sunsari-2, Poonam Devi from Rautahat-3, and Vasundhara Humagain from Kavrepalanchok-2. The party leadership has stated that these candidacies reflect the party’s effort to increase women’s representation, though the number remains limited compared to the total constituencies.
The NCP leadership maintains that all nominated candidates have formally entered the electoral race following the completion of the nomination process. With candidates now registered across the country, the party is preparing to intensify its election campaign in the lead-up to the House of Representatives polls.
