Kathmandu — The price of gold dropped sharply on Sunday, the first trading day of the week, witnessing a decline of Rs 18,800 per tola compared to the previous trading day.
Gold, which was traded at Rs 318,800 per tola on the previous day, has fallen to Rs 300,000 per tola on Sunday, according to market rates.
Silver prices also recorded a significant decrease. The price of silver fell by Rs 1,565 per tola and is currently being traded at Rs 5,500 per tola.
According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Merchants Federation, the price of stamped gold has been fixed at Rs 257,200 per 10 grams, while silver has been priced at Rs 4,715.50 per 10 grams.
The sharp decline in prices reflects volatility in the domestic precious metals market, influenced by international trends and local demand conditions.
