Kathmandu- The government has decided to extend the tenure of the inquiry commission formed to investigate the Gen-Z movement by an additional 25 days.
The decision was taken during a Cabinet meeting held on Monday at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, who also serves as the government’s spokesperson, said the extension was granted to allow the commission more time to complete its investigation.
“It has been decided to extend the term of the inquiry commission formed to impartially investigate the incidents of Bhadra 23 and 24 by 25 days,” Aryal said.
The inquiry commission was constituted to look into the incidents related to the Gen-Z movement that took place on Bhadra 23 and 24, which had drawn national attention. With the extension, the commission is expected to continue collecting evidence, recording statements, and preparing its final report for submission to the government.
