Bagmati- The Bagmati Province Government has collected revenue amounting to Rs 16.11 billion in the first five months of the current fiscal year 2082/83, achieving 23.88 percent of its annual revenue target.
According to Indraraj Sanyal, an official at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Planning Development, the province collected Rs 8.84 billion from property tax and vehicle tax between Shrawan and Mangsir. These two sources remain the primary contributors to the province’s revenue.
The provincial government has projected revenue collection of Rs 30.89 billion from property registration and vehicle taxes alone in the current fiscal year.
The ministry stated that an additional Rs 2.95 billion was generated from vehicle inspection passes, route permits, and the issuance and renewal of driving licences. Revenue from value added tax stood at Rs 3.68 billion, while excise tax collection reached Rs 4.37 billion during the review period.
Meanwhile, from internal revenue sources estimated at Rs 4.77 billion for the fiscal year, the province has collected 31.44 percent, amounting to Rs 1.50 billion, in the first five months of the fiscal year.
