Kathmandu- As preparations intensify for the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) election scheduled for March 5, the government has stepped up consultations with senior leaders of major political parties to create a conducive political environment.

As part of this initiative, Minister for Communication and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel held discussions today with Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba at Deuba’s residence in Maharajgunj.

According to Minister Kharel’s secretariat, the meeting focused on the broader political situation and efforts to ensure an environment supportive of the forthcoming election.

The secretariat further stated that Minister Kharel is scheduled to hold separate consultations later today with CPN (UML) Chair KP Sharma Oli and Nepali Communist Party (NCP) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

The ongoing round of talks with top leaders of the three major political forces—Nepali Congress, CPN (UML), and NCP—is being viewed as part of the government’s attempt to build political consensus and manage differences ahead of the March 5 parliamentary polls.
