Congress president assures inclusiveness after Election Commission recognition, commits to holding regular general convention in April

Kathmandu- Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has stated that there will be no discrimination or retaliation within the party, particularly in the distribution of election tickets, following the Election Commission’s decision to recognize the Thapa-led leadership.

Speaking to Online News after the Election Commission granted official authority to the leadership elected through the special general convention, President Thapa emphasized that the party would move forward on the basis of unity and inclusiveness.

“We will not discriminate against anyone,” Thapa said, “Even those who did not attend the special general convention of the Nepali Congress held at Bhrikutimandap will not be treated differently.”

He further clarified that the party would not adopt a winner–loser mindset in ticket allocation or organizational decisions. “No one should feel that they have lost in ticket distribution. There is no situation of revenge or retaliation against anyone,” he added.

President Thapa also reaffirmed his commitment to the party’s institutional process, stating that the regular general convention will be held in April as previously scheduled. Calling on party members to focus on organizational responsibilities, he said, “From today, let us all come together and get back to party work.”
