Kathmandu- The Election Commission has fixed separate time slots for five major political parties to register their candidacies for the upcoming House of Representatives elections scheduled for February 21, aiming to ensure an orderly and systematic nomination process.
According to the Commission, candidacy registration will take place nationwide starting tomorrow. To streamline the process and manage crowding at election offices, different time windows have been allocated to the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, Nepali Communist Party, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP).
As per the schedule released by the Election Commission, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has been given the first slot, with its candidates required to file their nominations at 1:00 pm. This will be followed by the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) at 2:00 pm.
Similarly, candidates from the CPN-UML have been allotted 2:30 pm for nomination registration. The Nepali Congress has been given the later slots, with its candidates scheduled to register at 3:00 pm, and the final deadline set at 4:00 pm.
The Commission stated that allocating staggered times for major parties is intended to facilitate smooth administration, avoid congestion, and ensure compliance with election procedures during the nomination process.
