Kathmandu — The price of gold in the Nepali market has crossed the Rs 300,000 mark per tola, setting a new historical record. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers, the price of gold has been fixed at Rs 301,400 per tola for today.

This represents a sharp increase of Rs 9,200 per tola in a single day. Just a day earlier, the price of gold had declined by Rs 2,900 per tola and was traded at Rs 292,200.

Traders say the sudden rise reflects volatility in the international bullion market, along with increased investor interest in gold as a safe-haven asset. With prices reaching unprecedented levels, the surge is expected to impact both consumer demand and the jewelry market in Nepal.

Gold price jumps by Rs 10,400 in a single day, nearing Rs 300,000 per tola
