Kathmandu- A total of 545 students graduated from Nepal Open University during its first convocation ceremony held on Saturday.
Prime Minister Sushila Karki, who is also the Chancellor of the University, awarded degrees to students from various faculties including Science, Humanities, Education, Management, and Law. Out of the total graduates, 191 students were present at the convocation ceremony.
During the programme, Prime Minister Karki also presented the Chancellor Medal to the top-performing students at the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels.
Educationist and former Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University, Kedar Bhakta Mathema, attended the ceremony as the chief guest.
Established in 2073 BS, Nepal Open University currently runs academic programmes at the Bachelor’s, Master’s, MPhil, and PhD levels, expanding access to higher education through open and distance learning.
