Nepal Government Forms High-Level Committee for Political Dialogue

Kathmandu- The government has formed a high-level political dialogue committee to engage with various political parties and stakeholders. The decision was taken at a Council of Ministers meeting held at Singha Durbar on Monday.

Committee Members Named

The committee will be coordinated by Law Minister Anil Sinha. Other members include Minister for Communications Jagdish Kharel and Chief Political Advisor to the Prime Minister Ajay Bhadra Khanal.

Government Spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagdish Kharel stated that the committee aims to facilitate talks and create a conducive political environment to ensure smooth conduct of upcoming elections.

Spokesperson Kharel also announced that arrangements have been made to allow Nepali and Indian citizens to carry Indian currency notes of Rs 200 and Rs 500, issued since November 9, 2016, up to a limit of Rs 25,000 per person, across the India-Nepal border.
