Kathmandu- The US dollar has climbed to an all-time high against the Nepali rupee, according to the foreign exchange rates published by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) on Monday.
The central bank has fixed the buying rate of one US dollar at Rs 144.88, while the selling rate stands at Rs 144.48 for the day. The latest rate reflects sustained pressure on the domestic currency amid global dollar strength.
As per NRB, the European euro is valued at Rs 170.20 for buying and Rs 170.90 for selling. The UK pound sterling has been set at Rs 193.95 for buying and Rs 194.75 for selling, while the Swiss franc is traded at Rs 182 for buying and Rs 182.75 for selling.
Similarly, the Australian dollar has been fixed at Rs 96.29 for buying and Rs 96.69 for selling. The rate for 10 Japanese yen stands at Rs 9.35 for buying and Rs 9.39 for selling. The Chinese yuan is valued at Rs 20.56 for buying and Rs 20.64 for selling, according to the central bank.
