Kathmandu- Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah has submitted a written response to the Commission of Inquiry investigating the Gen-Z movement that occurred on Bhadra 23 and 24.
The commission had earlier sent a formal letter seeking Mayor Shah’s clarification regarding the incidents. Confirming the development, commission spokesperson Vigyanraj Sharma told that the mayor’s response has been received.
“The written reply sent by Mayor Shah has been received by the commission,” Sharma said.
With the collection of statements and documents now completed, the commission has begun drafting its final report. Last week, the commission recorded written and verbal statements from Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak.

The panel has already gathered data and evidence related to the Genji movement and taken statements from lower-level security personnel, the then Kathmandu Police Chief, senior officials of the Valley Police Office, and high-ranking officers at Police Headquarters.
Statements have also been collected from the Armed Police Force, the National Investigation Department, the Chief District Officer of Kathmandu, the then Home Secretary, and the Chief Secretary. Army Chief Ashok Raj Sigdel also appeared before the commission along with senior officers to record his statement.
Earlier, the commission had taken statements from former Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane and other concerned individuals.
