Kathmandu — Gold and silver prices in the domestic market have climbed to new record levels, continuing their upward trend in line with rising prices in the international market.

According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Merchants Federation, the price of gold has been fixed at Rs 276,500 per tola for Tuesday. This represents an increase of Rs 1,800 compared to the previous trading day, when gold was priced at Rs 274,700 per tola.

Silver prices have also surged sharply. The federation has set the price of silver at Rs 5,340 per tola, up by Rs 145 from Monday’s rate of Rs 5,195 per tola.

Traders say the domestic price hike reflects the continued rally in global bullion markets, where both gold and silver have recently touched historic highs. The rise is being attributed to a combination of international economic uncertainty, expectations around interest rate movements, and increased demand for safe-haven assets.

With prices repeatedly setting new records, market observers note growing concern among consumers, while investors continue to view precious metals as a hedge against volatility.
