Kathmandu — The price of gold and silver in the Nepali market has continued its record-breaking trend, with gold registering a historic single-day surge on Thursday.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers, the price of gold increased by a massive Rs 20,500 per tola in a single day. With this rise, the price of one tola of gold has been fixed at Rs 339,300, marking the highest level ever recorded in Nepal.

On Wednesday, gold had already climbed by Rs 9,500 per tola to reach Rs 318,800. Earlier on Tuesday, the price stood at Rs 309,300 per tola after a modest increase of Rs 300. The sharp and consecutive hikes highlight growing volatility and strong upward pressure in the bullion market.

The federation said that the price of gold has also reached Rs 290,895 per 10 grams, reflecting the steep rise in per-tola rates.

Silver prices have also followed the upward trend. On Thursday, the price of silver increased further, reaching Rs 7,505 per tola. On Wednesday alone, silver had risen by Rs 430 compared to Tuesday, when it was traded at Rs 7,300 per tola.

Market analysts attribute the continuous surge in gold and silver prices to rising international rates, global economic uncertainty, and increased demand for safe-haven assets.
