Kathmandu-Gold and silver prices in the domestic market have once again reached record highs today, reflecting continued volatility and strong demand in the bullion market.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (fenegosida), the price of fine gold increased by Rs 2,800 per tola today, reaching Rs 270,600 per tola. This is the highest price of gold ever recorded in Nepal.
Last Friday, gold had already surged by Rs 2,100 per tola to reach Rs 267,800. After declining for two consecutive days on Wednesday and Thursday, gold prices rebounded on Friday and continued the upward trend on Sunday.
Earlier, on December 13, gold prices had briefly touched the same level of Rs 270,600 per tola before declining again. With today’s rise, gold has once again set a new all-time high in the domestic market.
Silver prices have also followed an upward trajectory. The price of silver increased by Rs 210 per tola today, reaching Rs 4,990 per tola. This is also the highest silver price recorded so far in Nepal, bringing it close to the Rs 5,000 per tola mark.
Traders say the surge in precious metal prices is influenced by international market trends, currency fluctuations, and rising demand for safe-haven assets. Market observers note that continued global uncertainty could keep gold and silver prices elevated in the coming days.
