Kathmandu- The prices of gold and silver in the domestic market have reached new record levels. According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers Federation, the price of gold increased by Rs 4,200 per tola on Monday, setting a fresh all-time high.

With the latest increase, gold is being traded at Rs 282,000 per tola. On the previous trading day, gold was priced at Rs 277,800 per tola.

Earlier, last Wednesday, gold had set a record at Rs 278,000 per tola. That record has now been surpassed, indicating continued volatility and upward pressure in the precious metals market.

Silver prices have also moved upward. Silver, which was traded at Rs 5,625 per tola on the previous day, rose by Rs 185 to reach Rs 5,810 per tola on Monday.

Although silver had earlier touched a historic high of Rs 6,655 per tola last Wednesday, the current rise reflects renewed momentum in the market alongside gold.

Market analysts attribute the sustained rise in gold and silver prices to global economic uncertainty, fluctuations in international bullion prices, and investor demand for safe-haven assets.
